The qualification is suited to individuals who possess significant theoretical business skills and knowledge and wish to consolidate and build pathways to further educational or employment opportunities.
This qualification would apply to individuals with various job titles including executive officers, program consultants and program coordinators. Individuals in these roles may possess substantial experience in a range of settings, but seek to further develop their skills across a wide range of business functions. Conversely, it may also apply to those with little or no vocational experience, but who possess sound theoretical business skills and knowledge that they would like to develop in order to create further educational and employment opportunities.

The Diploma of Mental Health offers graduates a variety of employment opportunities within the health, human and community services sectors. These may include Welfare Support Workers and Mental Health Outreach Support Workers, Community Engagement Workers and other Rehabilitation Workers within the sector.
Direct entry into the Diploma is available to eligible applicants; or students might choose to study the Certificate IV in Community Services or the Certificate IV in Mental Health before commencing this Diploma program."

This qualification reflects the role of early childhood educators who are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services. The Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management qualification reflects the role of workers who are middle managers or managers across a range of community sector organisations. These people work independently and report to executive management, directors or boards of management. They undertake a range of functions requiring the application of knowledge and skills to achieve results in line with the organisation’s goals and strategic directions.
At this level, workers have responsibility for planning and monitoring service delivery, recruitment and performance management of other paid or unpaid workers, managing risk and contributing to continuous improvement within the scope of their specific role. This may include management of a specific programs or project, or broader management of a community-based organisation, early childhood education service, not-for-profit organisation or community centre.
Pathways into community sector management as a career include vocational training and tertiary qualifications. Students who complete this qualification may be eligible for entry into higher education programs in areas such as Social Work, Human Services and Applied Public Health.
