    ELSIS can design a high-quality, on or off campus program of English language classes and recreational activities to suit the individual needs of your group. Lessons are especially designed for short-term educational visits with class sizes of 10-15 students. The lessons are interesting and fun, and encourage you to speak in English. They are connected closely with the afternoon activities, so you can apply what you learn in class to real life situations.


    Our Study Tour teachers are native English speakers, with University degrees and specialist TESOL qualifications. They are highly qualified and experienced professionals, who provide the highest standards of English language training.

    Overview

    Our General Intensive English course is recommended as a first step in language learning. For those just starting out with English, General Intensive English gives you a solid grounding in grammar and you improve your social and functional communication.

    Overview

    Students who wish to enroll EAP will have as their specific study objective to join a college or university for further study. The focus of the EAP course is develop the skills areas in English which will be required to study alongside native speakers in mainstream course areas.


    EAP I will meet English language requirements for colleges and other RTO private colleges offering VET (Vocational Training) courses. Students will need to reach a level consistent with 5.5 IELTS.


    Students entering the EAP course at level 2 will be seeking a pass at IELTS 6.0+ in order to enter a tertiary course of their choice. Students graduating from this course will have a level consistent with their achieving a level in IELTS, which is at least 6 for graduates of EAP 2.

    The course aims to improve students’ ability to communicate in English in a wide range of business situations.     Overview

    Cambridge Exam Preparation Courses in Sydney are excellent if you need a formal English language qualification. It is recognised by employers, colleges and universities (especially in Europe and South America). The classes prepare you for the examinations which are conducted by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations.


    The Cambridge PET course is an introduction to the Cambridge examinations for those students not quite ready for the First Certificate. It prepares students for the international examination which is held three times a year. You will receive a solid foundation in intermediate-level grammar and learn to develop your skills in the four macro skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.


    The Cambridge FCE course is our most popular Cambridge course. It prepares students for the international examination. You will receive a solid foundation in grammar and learn to develop your skills in the four macro skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. The test is broken down into five components:


    • Listening Comprehension


    • Speaking


    • Reading


    • Writing


    • Use of English


    The Cambridge CAE is an intensive course for students who can speak and write English fluently and confidently and who want to further develop their skills. The exam consists of five papers – reading, writing, listening, speaking and use of English – and is an internationally recognised qualification. This is an excellent course for students who already possess a high ability in English and want the challenge of honing their skills.

    Overview

    This is a examination preparation course which prepares students for the internationally recognised International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination. The course includes authentic IELTS-style examinations which students take every 3 weeks of the course.


    Successful results in the IELTS examination can lead to entry to Vocational or to University courses, as well as certain classes of Australian immigration visas. The IELTS examination tests students in four skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. Results are given for each skill on a scale from 0 to 9 at steps of half a band, with 9 being the highest level, together with a similarly scaled overall score averaged from the four skills. Entry requirements for tertiary courses vary from course to course with Certificate and Diploma courses generally requiring a band level of 5.5 or 6, and university courses generally requiring 6.5 or above..
